Audio-Visual and Collaboration
Rooms where the display, sound, camera and meeting software just work, designed for how people actually use the space.

Symptoms
When this matters
If any of these describe your environment, this is the conversation to have.
- 01Every meeting starts with ten minutes of cables, adapters and 'can you hear me?'
- 02Hybrid meetings leave remote participants unable to see or hear the room properly.
- 03Classrooms or training rooms have projectors and boards that nobody trusts.
- 04An auditorium, lobby or control room needs sound, video wall or signage that matches the architecture.
- 05Rooms were fitted by different vendors, so each one behaves differently and nobody owns support.
Scope
What KINNEX delivers
A good room is invisible. Nobody thinks about the system, because the picture is clear, the sound is natural and the meeting starts when people walk in. We design and build that, and stay responsible for it afterwards.
- Meeting-room and boardroom systems for Teams, Zoom, Webex and Google Meet.
- Interactive panels, projection and audio for classrooms, labs and training rooms.
- Auditorium, conference-hall and event sound, vision and control.
- Video walls, digital signage and information displays.
- Public address and background sound, integrated with safety systems.
- Room scheduling, control and monitoring, with support under an agreed SOP and SLA.

How we take this on
One contract. The right specialist for every part
Your project is wider than any single team. We scope all of it, source all of it and carry the responsibility for all of it.
- 01
Scope
We survey, size and specify against standards and your operating reality, not against a brochure.
- 02
Source
Any make, any model, from the manufacturer, distribution or registered importers. GST-compliant invoicing, warranty and returns handled for you.
- 03
Deliver
KINNEX engineers do the work we do every day. Where a job needs a specialist, we bring in the right expert team as a sub-order under your single contract.
- 04
Own
One scope, one SOP, one SLA and one point of accountability, whoever is on site.
Standards and terms
Standards we design to, and the terms you will hear
Specifications are written against recognised standards. Here is the vocabulary, in plain language.
- AVIXA design and acoustic guidance (ANSI/AVIXA standards)
- IEC 60268 (sound system equipment)
- IEC 60849 and EN 54-16 (voice alarm)
- AES67 and Dante (network audio)
- HDMI, HDCP, HDBaseT and SMPTE ST 2110
- IEEE 802.3 PoE for AV devices
- TIA-568 cabling
- ISO 3382 (room acoustics)
- WCAG-aligned accessibility for digital signage
- ISO/IEC 27001 aligned operating practices
- Codec
- The unit that encodes and decodes video and audio for a conference call. In a video bar it is built in.
- Echo cancellation
- Processing that stops people hearing their own voice coming back from the far end. Essential for any call.
- Beamforming microphone
- A microphone array that listens in the direction of the speaker and ignores room noise.
- IFP / IWB
- Interactive flat panel and interactive whiteboard: touch-screen displays used for teaching and collaboration.
- Short-throw projector
- A projector that makes a large picture from very close to the screen, so shadows and glare are reduced.
- DSP
- Digital signal processor: the unit that equalises, mixes and routes sound in a room or venue.
- Dante and AES67
- Standards that send audio over ordinary network cabling instead of dedicated audio cable.
- AV over IP
- Distributing video and audio across a network, so any source can go to any display.
- HDBaseT
- A way to send high-quality video, audio and control over a single network cable up to about 100 m.
- Video wall
- A grid of displays working as one large screen, used in control rooms, lobbies and events.
- 70 V / 100 V line
- A way to feed many speakers from one amplifier over long cable runs, common in public-address systems.
- RT60
- How long sound takes to fade away in a room. Long RT60 means echo and poor speech clarity.
- SOP and SLA
- The documented procedures for looking after rooms, and the response targets agreed for them.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
From how many people use it, how large and how reflective it is, what platform they meet on and what they do in it. A twelve-seat boardroom, a thirty-seat training room and a four-person huddle space need different systems, not the same one in different sizes.
Yes. Rooms are built around the meeting platform you already use, in platform-native room or bring-your-own-device modes, with one-touch join where the platform supports it.
Often a little. Echo and background noise do more damage to a call than a low-resolution camera. We assess it during design and recommend treatment where it will make a real difference.
Classroom design covers panels or projection, sound reinforcement, lecture capture and teacher controls. Exam halls usually add clocks, PA and invigilation cameras.
Yes. Screens across floors or buildings can be updated from one place, scheduled by time and location, and monitored for failure.
We can monitor rooms remotely and service them under an agreed SOP and SLA, so there is one number to call for any room, whoever supplied the equipment.
